La La Land

By Danny F. Santos (doddleNEWS)

Another year and another round of Golden Globes have been handed out. This time the Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone-led musical La La Land took a record seven Golden Globes, including best performance by an actress, best performance by an actor, and best musical or comedy film.

On the television side, Donald Glover’s Atlanta took home both best actor and best musical or comedy series, over series like Veep and Transparent. On the drama side The Crown took home best drama series and best actress.

Science-fiction was effectively shut out this year despite strong contenders like Game of Thrones, Westworld, and my favorite film of the last few years Arrival receiving no honors.
